Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed on Saturday with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the UAE and Ethiopia, on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit in the Indian capital, New Delhi.
Footage shows the meeting between Sheikh Khaled and Ahmed, where the two sides exchanged handshakes and held talks in the presence of several officials from both countries.
The meeting reportedly addressed bilateral relations and ways to develop and invest in opportunities and capabilities, as well as talks to elevate cooperation to broader levels and build quality partnerships that support progress, prosperity, and development for both countries and achieve their shared interests.
The UAE is participating in the BRICS summit for the third time as a member of the group, after joining it during the 15th summit hosted by the city of Johannesburg in South Africa in 2023.
India is hosting the two-day summit on September 12 and 13, bringing together leaders from a bloc that now represents nearly half the world's population and around 40 per cent of global GDP.
