"The instruments for co-operation are developing very rapidly. Today, the Russian Direct Investment Fund signed important agreements in the area of BRICS Pay - the BRICS payment system - as well as in education and support for our technology companies. For example, Innopraktika is actively developing technology hubs in India and other BRICS countries, allowing our startups to interact effectively and quickly, as well as helping our technology companies enter the markets of BRICS countries," he said.
Dmitriev added that the focus of the discussions was on 'practical and clear instruments for co-operation' between the member states.
"Russian president [Vladimir Putin] said clearly today that the BRICS alliance is not against anyone. It is about ensuring that our businesses and companies develop and interact more with each other. Therefore, this is undoubtedly a very important summit precisely in terms of the practical implementation of the economic potential that exists between the BRICS countries," he continued.
Putin's visit to New Delhi runs from September 11-13. On Friday, he and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the INNOPROM exhibition together.
INNOPROM.India runs from September 9-11 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, bringing together government representatives, manufacturers, technology companies, investors and industry organisations from both countries.
On Saturday, the leaders take part in a high level BRICS Summit session before meeting in an expanded format with partners and invitees and signing final documents on Sunday. The Russian president is also expected to hold a number of other bilateral meetings.
