Ugandan Vice President Jessica Alupo arrived in New Delhi on Friday ahead of the BRICS summit, leading her country's delegation as Uganda takes part as a partner country.

The two-day summit takes place on September 12 and 13 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, bringing together leaders and representatives from BRICS' 11 members, partner countries and invited delegations.

Uganda has been a BRICS partner country since January 2025, with its engagement focused on expanding investment, technology partnerships, market access and cooperation on development priorities.

India holds the BRICS chairship in 2026, under the theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability".
