03:15Russian presidential aide and Chair of the Russian Federation's Maritime Collegium Nikolai Patrushev visited the main shipbuilding complex and Brazilian Navy Museum in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday during his working visit to Brazil.
Footage shows an honour guard greeting the Russian delegation's plane at the airport, after which representatives of the two countries set off on the tour.
Patrushev also presented a gift to Gilberto Santos Kerro, Director of the Brazilian Navy's Historical Heritage and Documentation Office.
"This emblem would be just right for your museum - it's the emblem of our Maritime College," the politician noted.
Kerr presented him with a tie bearing the Navy Command's emblem in return.
Patrushev arrived in Brazil on Monday. During his visit, he met with Celso Amorim, the president's special assistant for international affairs, as well as Defense Minister Jose Mucio Monteiro and co-chair of the intergovernmental commission between the two countries Maria Laura da Rocha. During the talks, the parties discussed the development of co-operation between their naval forces, as well as issues of international security in the world's oceans.
