'Not merely a market!' - Indonesia's industry minister urges 'long-term co-operation' with Russia04:51
Description

Indonesian Minister of Industry Agus Kartasasmita encouraged businesses in the Republic to co-operate with Russian partners, speaking at the business forum of the international Innoprom exhibition in Yekaterinburg on Tuesday.

"For Indonesian companies that have not yet regarded Russia as an important market, now is the right time. This is the right moment to see Russia not merely as a market, but as a partner with whom we can build long-term co-operation," Kartasasmita explained.

The minister noted that the manufacturing sector remains one of the key pillars of Indonesia's economy, accounting for around 20 per cent of the country's GDP and over 83 per cent of exports.

"Indonesia is not a country that simply relies on commodities and looks for buyers. Indonesia is an industrial nation seeking partners - particularly partners from Russia. The relationship between Indonesia and Russia reflects this direction," said Kartasasmita.

The Innoprom International Industrial Exhibition is being held from 6 to 9 July. The annual forum brings together manufacturers and procurement experts from around the world, providing a global platform to showcase advanced technologies and expand access to international markets.
