Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu took part in an informal lunch in the BRICS format on the sidelines of the International Security Forum on Thursday.

"We recognise the significance of the upcoming meeting of high-level representatives from the BRICS member states in New Delhi next month. It will be an important step in the run-up to the main event - the BRICS summit. I wish us all success in our joint work," Shoigu said.

The International Security Forum is taking place from May 26-29. The Russian side has invited more than 180 delegations from foreign states and organisations. The programme includes bilateral and multilateral meetings, as well as visits to exhibition stands.
