Description

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla in New Delhi on Friday.

"It’s a crazy schedule," Lavrov remarked.

Footage shows the diplomats shaking hands before the start of negotiations.

The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Lavrov and Parrilla discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda in a 'friendly and constructive' manner, and exchanged views on regional and international matters.

"The Russian side expressed its readiness to support Havana in its just demand for an immediate end to the trade, economic, and financial blockade of the island by the United States, as well as the removal of Cuba from the American list of state sponsors of terrorism," the ministry stated.

Lavrov's visit to India ends on May 15, as part of the BRICS Foreign Ministers' meeting. He takes part in two plenary sessions: the first dedicated to the global and regional agenda, and the second to the 20th anniversary of BRICS and issues of sustainable development, innovation and the expansion of co-operation between the bloc’s member states.
