Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed during a press conference in New Delhi on Friday that Germany has 'once again' emerged as the leader of 'Nazism in Europe,' suggesting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has taken on the role of a modern-day Hitler.
"Nobody even bothers to hide their true colours. Germany is once again leading the charge in support of Nazism in Europe," Lavrov asserted.
"President Zelensky has now been appointed to the role of Fuhrer. Under his so-called leadership, a new alliance of Europeans is taking shape, with Germany playing a leading and driving role," he continued.
The diplomat emphasised that safeguarding the rights of national minorities in Ukraine should be unconditional and not merely a point in the ongoing conflict resolution process with Russia.
"It must be done without any mutual concessions whatsoever, simply because it is Ukraine's obligation not only under the UN Charter, but also under its own constitution, which no one has abolished and in which the rights of the Russian and other national minorities are enshrined and guaranteed by the state," Lavrov stated.
Earlier, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitri Peskov claimed that European countries are not genuinely seeking a diplomatic solution to the conflict, instead supporting Ukraine's aspirations, with the United States being the only interested party on the global stage.
Delegates from Russia, Ukraine and the United States held three rounds of security talks: on January 23-24 and February 4 in Abu Dhabi, and from February 17-18 in Geneva. These meetings took place in both trilateral and bilateral formats, including discussions between Moscow and Kiev. It is reported that the diplomats discussed the peace plan proposed by President Donald Trump.
