"China is actively enhancing co-operation with all BRICS countries without exception. If we consider Russia-China relations, we see how, over the last 5-10 years, trade turnover, investment interactions, and humanitarian exchanges have grown substantially. Therefore, any such interaction with, I repeat, the world's largest economy is beneficial for all," Oreshkin highlighted.
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, also speaking at the forum, revealed that Russia is working on an alternative to the SWIFT international payment system, adding that proposals for a 'corresponding platform and clearing scheme' have also been discussed within the BRICS framework.
The 22nd Valdai International Discussion Club annual meeting is taking place in Sochi from September 29 to October 2. This year's topic is 'The Polycentric World: Instructions for Use'.
