Steven Seagal's Seal of Approval! - Action legend says Putin's EEF speech 'very nice'04:01
Description

Hollywood action star Steven Seagal praised the speech of President Vladimir Putin at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Russia’s Vladivostok on Friday.

"Mr Seagal, what do you think?" a journalist asked. "Very nice!" he replied.

Seagal (73), who now lives in Russia and took citizenship in 2016, was appointed special representative for Russia-US Cultural Links in 2018.

In turn, CEO of Skwerup Capital Partners, Ankur Goel, also welcomed Putin’s remarks, saying it was "very fruitful and very productive, especially in terms of taking the Far East connection with the BRICS nations".

"Each different region of the Far East has its own strengths. So the president talked about how innovation and technologies can be taken up and can be integrated with international countries. So that is an interesting part over there," he continued.

Meanwhile, the CEO of the Nehsan Group, Nehsan Selvaraj, said that the forum provided an opportunity to discuss ways in which countries could "easily navigate to make all the businesses successful".

"Last year, especially the 2024 Eastern Economic Forum, was the key where our Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was here for the panellists, along with President Putin. <…> Malaysia officially has joined BRICS. So you see, the progress is there that each and every time when we have a discussion officially, we are trying to progress and move forward to the next step," he said.

The Eastern Economic Forum-2025 - 'The Far East: Co-operation for Peace and Prosperity' - is taking place on September 3-6. The programme of the forum includes round tables, debates, business breakfasts and business dialogues devoted to Russia's relations with various countries around the world.

More than 4,500 participants and media representatives from 70 countries are expected to take part in the events.

The EEF has been held annually in Vladivostok since 2015 to strengthen ties between the Russian and global investment communities.
