Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian left New Delhi on Sunday after concluding his visit to India for the 18th BRICS Summit.
Footage shows Pezeshkian shaking hands with officials at the airport before boarding his plane.
During the three-day visit, Pezeshkian met leaders from Russia, China, India, South Africa, Malaysia, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates.
India hosted the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12 and 13.
India's 2026 presidency was guided by the theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability", reflecting its "Humanity First" vision and a people-centred approach. New Delhi also pushed for stronger cooperation among Global South countries and a greater voice for developing economies in international affairs.
This was India's fourth BRICS chairship, but its first since the group expanded to 11 members. Ten partner countries also took part in the summit.
BRICS now represents almost half of the world's population and around 40 per cent of global GDP by purchasing power parity.
The group began as BRIC in 2006, held its first leaders' summit in 2009 and became BRICS after South Africa joined in 2010. It expanded again in 2024 and 2025, bringing in Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia, among others.
