Footage shows dazzling installations across the city, with India Gate illuminated in the colours of the national flag and streets and buildings glowing in BRICS colours.
Residents welcomed the transformation as world leaders and delegations gathered in the Indian capital for the September 12-13 gathering.
"We can see that there is a good, positive role in the world that India is moving forward and India is capable of hosting large events. So, we hope that there will be more summits and events in India," one local said.
Another praised the atmosphere created by the influx of influential guests.
"A lot of presidents and prime ministers have come. A lot of delegates have also come, and they are staying in these hotels. So, it feels very good. Our Delhi is looking so beautiful for this summit," he pointed out.
The summit marks another major diplomatic gathering for New Delhi, which hosted the G20 Leaders' Summit at the same Bharat Mandapam venue in 2023. India has also convened a series of Voice of Global South summits.
The two-day BRICS gathering brought together the bloc's 11 members alongside partner and invited countries, with India putting Global South cooperation and greater representation for developing economies at the centre of its 2026 chairship.
